Raymond Weil Unveils Limited Edition Watches Inspired By Music Legends October 20, 2017 13:00
Raymond Weil has long been know as The Musical Watchmaker, producing tributes to opera and classical music - passions of the late founder and his family.
The Swiss manufacturer has unveiled an exciting selection of limited edition timepieces for 2017 inspired by pivotal icons of contemporary music.
The Beatles
The first is the brand's second tribute to the legendary English rock band The Beatles. It features a black dial reminiscent of a vinyl LP record with the band's logo and a 4 o'clock indicator in the silhouette of the fab four from the iconic "Abbey Road" album cover.
Limited to 3,000 pieces worldwide, this limited edition watch is powered by the RW4200 self-winding mechanical movement and looks befittingly classic in the Maestro case and steel bracelet.
Buddy Holly
In commemoration of the 80th birthday of Buddy Holly, Raymond Weil's tribute to the father of rock and roll is a silver and baby blue dial Limited Edition Maestro watch.
Limited to 3,000 pieces worldwide, the beautiful timepiece is powered by Raymond Weil's RW4250 calibre, a high-quality swiss 31 jewel automatic mechanical movement.
Gibson Les Paul
The Raymond Weil Freelancer Gibson Les Paul seamlessly blends the watchmaker's signature style with the unmistakable aesthetics of the legendary “Black Beauty” Les Paul guitar.
The case is topped with a tachymetric bezel with black PVD accents, inspired by the black lacquer finish of the fabled guitar. The gold split-diamond inlay alongside the date between 4 and 5 o’clock is taken from the Les Paul Custom models, top of the Les Paul range, which had a headstock inlaid with the motif in mother-of-pearl. The gold colour is also found on the chronograph counters, the Les Paul signature at 12 o’clock and the top-stitching of the perforated ebony calfskin strap.
Six guilloché grooves around the perimeter of the black dial represent guitar strings, with fret-shaped hour markers to complete the resemblance to a guitar neck.
David Bowie
The most recent release is the Raymond Weil Limited Edition Freelancer David Bowie watch. Its 42 mm diameter case contains a dial resembling a vinyl record clearly featuring some of the most emblematic design cues of the British artist.
This Freelancer watch is powered by the RW4200 mechanical calibre and is limited to 3,000 pieces worldwide. It comes in a specially designed box, paying homage to the music icon.
